I know. This is just slightly off-topic on the Psallentes-site. But on the other hand, I truly believe that this is modern-day plainchant. And it’s an ‘anti-war romance’! “David Bowie has unveiled another brand-new track ahead of his 3CD best-of collection, Nothing Has Changed. Entitled ’Tis A Pity She Was A Whore (and doubtless named in tribute to the 1629 tragedy by Jacobean playwright John Ford) it is a raucous five-minute mesh of melody and discord, an art-rock anti-war romance, gasping under the pack-ice of no-wave sax-squawk, of which the man himself says “If Vorticists wrote Rock Music it might have sounded like this.” Recorded, played and written by David Bowie in his home studio, ’Tis A Pity She Was A Whore is accompanied here by a fan video comprising nothing but Iraq war drone attacks.” (www.mojo4music.com)

This post is very moving. It’s a fine statement against war.
I’m not sure I get it… but appreciate Bowie’s war protest!
