Hendrik Vanden Abeele and Psallentes will lead an introductory workshop on the singing of chant from original notation. All are welcome! Hendrik Vanden Abeele founded Psallentes in 2000, and the group has released 27 commercial CDs since then. Straddling both academic and creative realms, Vanden Abeele has researched performance practice issues extensively, drawing on a varied group of chant manuscripts in his doctoral dissertation, “What late medieval chant manuscripts do to a present-day performer of plainchant”.
